Volunteering
We have many fun and rewarding opportunities for potential volunteers including helping with special events, assisting with the 24-hour crisis hotline, and serving on our Board of Directors. If you are interested in volunteering, please complete our application below and email us at [email protected].
Hotline Volunteers support the Center’s 24-hour crisis hotline during non-office hours. The hotline is answered in the office during regular business hours (Monday-Friday, 8 am-5 pm). During non-office hours (weekdays 5pm-8 am, weekends, and holidays) the hotline is call forwarded and staffed by volunteers. As a hotline volunteer, you can volunteer from the comfort of your own home while providing a vital service.
Volunteer assignments include receiving and processing donations, sorting, merchandising, inventory rotation, and cashier duties.
Volunteers assist clients with intake, hotline support, transportation, and referrals. Training is provided.
Administrative support including data entry, receptionist duties, and basic technical maintenance.

Groups may also help collect items that the Family Crisis Center has an ongoing need for, including:
Groups are particularly helpful in conducting drives for annual events such as: Thanksgiving Meal, Christmas Holiday Giving, and others.
These drives are conducted with the goal of collecting either a large amount of a single item or multiple items. The following are some examples of fundraising for these events:
These are just examples – please contact the Community Partnership & Education Director to find out specific needs each year for collections.
Volunteer groups are also needed and welcome to participate in any of the above listed volunteer opportunities for individuals.
Fundraising Volunteers work with the Fundraising Manager and administrative staff to ensure that aspects of the Center’s special events and other fundraising efforts are accomplished as effectively and efficiently as possible. Fundraising volunteers assist with the many aspects of fundraising including but not limited to duties such as process bulk mailings, stuff invitations, staff information booths, prepare participant snacks and goodie bags, distribute flyers, serve on planning committees, staff registration tables, and set up for and/or tear down events.
