Position Summary:

The Family Crisis Center (FCC) Communication and Dvelopment Specialist is responsible for creating compelling content, building community relationships through outreach and education, supporting fundraising efforts, stewarding donors, and enhancing our reputation through in person storytelling and digital content.

All FCC staff share client service and other responsibilities of the organization, as required.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • COMMUNICATIONS & MARKETING:
    • Manage agency communications calendar, ensuring consistent and engaging content across social media channels, newsletters, and print materials related to the agency’s mission serving individuals impacted by domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking
    • Engage and educate the community through effective use of digital and print media
    • Create digital content and facilitate the production of engaging, timely and relevant social media posts about activities, available services, and resources to create a consistent online presence
    • Create print content and help facilitate the production of agency materials including brochures, newsletters, information packets, and available services and resources
  • DONOR DEVELOPMENT & FUNDRAISING:
    • Communicate with donors and supporters via email, phone, and mail in a professional and timely manner
    • Coordinate donor acknowledgment processes, including thank-you letters and contribution tracking
    • Research, identify, and implement best practices for donor engagement in order to effectively facilitate and increase donor identification, cultivation, solicitation, communication, retention, acknowledgment and stewardship, in order to increase cash and in-kind donations to the FCC
    • Support and publicize agency fundraising events and activities including planning, creating marketing and event materials, community and volunteer engagement, donor and sponsor communication, and event set-up/tear-down
  • COMMUNITY EDUCATION:
    • Provide community education, public presentations, information booths, public service announcements, articles, editorials, and other forms of outreach to inform the community about our mission and services

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Required: Three or more years of experience working in marketing, communications, or comparable experience. Must have advanced technology and social media experience
  • Preferred: A university or college degree in marketing, communications, or related field
  • A strong work ethic and willingness to work flexible hours
  • The ability to collaborate and work effectively with diverse groups and communicate effectively in a variety of formats

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
